Akesha L. Kirkpatrick joined the firm as an associate at Goldberg Simpson in 2020. Her practice primarily includes tort litigation and defense, commercial and business litigation, and employment litigation.

Ms. Kirkpatrick is originally from Somerset, Kentucky. She received her B.A. in English Literature and Political Science and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2016. Thereafter, Ms. Kirkpatrick earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Kentucky.

While in law school, Ms. Kirkpatrick was actively involved with the Student Bar Association, the Health Law Society, the Women’s Law Caucus, and served as both a Staff Editor and a Notes Review Committee Member on the Kentucky Law Journal.
Ms. Kirkpatrick was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in October 2019. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association.

Ms. Kirkpatrick works in multiple practice areas at Goldberg Simpson.

The Business Litigation practice area which provides all manner of legal representation in business disputes, including shareholder relationship disputes, partnership disputes and other dispute resolution in Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, Bowling Green and Owensboro, Kentucky, as well as in all Kentucky cities. This area has represented companies with respect to civil and criminal anti-trust investigations on both the state and federal levels. The Insurance Law Defense Group concentrates efforts on Tort Defense, Claims Defense, and Coverage Analysis and Litigation. It also has extensive experience in claims litigation and settlement — specifically in mediating and litigating motor vehicle, premises, product, food and restaurant, trucking, transportation, industrial, construction, environmental, and other general liability claims.
